This class covers seasonal ingredients, plant identification, culinary uses, and the history behind many of the species growing throughout the island forests.
Featured plants and fruits may include wild ginger, strawberry guava, mountain apple, common guava, Suriname cherry, seasonal mushrooms, and other edible species found along the trail and stream systems.
This is a hands-on educational experience centered around observation, tasting, and learning how these plants fit into Hawaii’s ecosystems and food culture.
